Rebirth and Redemption

Chapter 10 part 2

“Do you really want to test for A university?” Rong Yun felt surprised that Chu Feng would persist in this.

“En, I want to be with you in the future.” Chu Feng looked into Rong Yun and said seriously, afraid he wouldn’t believe him. “I must have a have a good future to be worthy of you.”

Rong Yun’s smile spread over his lips and as he looked as Chu Feng he didn’t know what to say. He wasn’t sure if Chu Feng would get into A university but if he worked hard enough then who knew, maybe it would happen.

Chu Feng smiled and tightened his hold around Rong Yun’s waist so Rong Yun was even closer to himself. “The computer can be first used to complete your homework and then you can use it for anything else for no more than three hours.” Chu Feng spoke to him gently.

“Okay.”  Rong Yun nodded obediently.

Chu Feng rubbed Rong Yun’s hair in satisfaction.” Alright let’s start doing homework. After Gui Heng comes back he’s definitely going to ask to copy from you.”

Rong Yun nodded and locked away the laptop in the cabinet before taking out today’s homework and starting to work. In their third year most of the work was just reviewing things not learning new things. Mostly review packets are given to the students to complete and as long as you put in a little effort you can basically do the homework.

Chu Feng took out his own homework and books to start studying. It was different for him since he had to start studying from the beginning and there was a lot he had to review.

Si Xian had gone out to buy some things and on the way back brought some fruit for Chu Feng and Rong Yun. When he opened the door, he was shocked to see Chu Feng who was studying with such concentration that he subconsciously looked at the door to make sure he hadn’t entered the wrong room and then wondered if he was imagining things.

“I brought some fruits. You can eat them yourselves when you like.” Si Xian told them while putting the bags on the table.

“Alright. Thanks.” Chu Feng got up to get some fruit and carried it Rong Yun. Si Xian didn’t look anymore after putting the bags on the table and went to wash his hands and then took a shower.

“Gui Heng didn’t come back with you?” Chu Feng asked Si Xian while he was still showering.

“He met Pnag Xuan on the way back.” Si Xian didn’t say anymore but Chu Feng already realized what he wanted to say and didn’t care about it anymore.

He handed a banana to Rong Yun. “Eat first and then write.” Rong Yun just took the banana from his hand and started eating while writing and Chu Feng helplessly watched Rong Yun fearing he would eat the peel in his concentration.

After almost half an hour Gui Heng returned and immediately went to Rong Yun and Si Xian to see how much they had completed their homework and then asked them both to lend his their notes After being assured that they would , he turned around to go and shower. Chu Feng realized that he had been just as annoying as Gui Heng in the past and felt a little embarrassed.

On his way back Gui Heng had met Pang Xuan and had warned him to not talk bad about Chu Feng and be careful not to offend him or Gui Heng would not be polite with him.

Chu Feng looked at the time and got up to pour Rong Yun a glass of milk. Milk can supplement calcium and help with sleep so it was not a bad thing to let Rong Yun drink a glass of milk everyday.

Chu Feng carried the glass to Rong Yun who looked at him in confusion. Chu Feng gently told him to drink the milk which he did obediently. He drank slowly in small mouthfuls. The milk was room temperature and felt very good to drink.

The milk left a circle of milk on his upper lip and made him look a little cute. Chu Feng took the glass from the hands on Rong Yun and bent forward to kiis Rong Yun’s lips and licked the milk of them lovingly.

Rong Yun was scared to think that Si Xian was still in the room with them. How could Chu Feng be so careless. He came to his senses and looked around and relieved to see Si Xian eating some fruit and studying in a corner and felt relieved. Rong Yun returned to his homework and pretended that nothing had happened.

Chu Feng smiled and felt that the taste of milk from the lips of Rong Yun was the sweetest he had ever had. He didn’t disturb Rong Yun anymore and went to wash the cup before returning to do his own work.

AAfter some time Rong Yun was finally done with all his work and turned around to look at Chu Feng who was still only half done and was still struggling to do his work. It was obvious that Chu Feng wasn’t listening in any class but at least he was willing to do his own homework instead of copying like Gui Heng.

Rong Yun thought of something and went back to write something a blank piece of paper. After a little while Si Xian was done with his work and lazily got up to stretch languidly before packing up and going to his bed with his laptop to use it for a while. Poor Gui Heng was still struggling to complete his work and trying to understand half of what he was writing.

After Rong Yun was done writing he threw it at the desk of Chu Feng who looked at him doubtfully before picking it up and reading it. It was actually a review plan and the subjects and time for studying were divided in a way that seemed possible for Chu Feng.

Chu Feng smiled and pinched Rong Yun’s face. “ You really are my lucky star.”

Rong Yun was embarrassed and avoided his hand. “I have the notes from all the classes and you can copy them.”

Chu Feng nodded and now with the help of Rong Yun his messy review plan had a direction to head in.

Si Xian looked up at Chu Feng and felt it was good for Chu Feng to be willing to study. If needed, he would also be willing to help CHu Feng study but was it really necessary for Chu Feng to call Rong Yun an embarrassing name like ‘his lucky star’? What he needed to do was do his homework and sleep!

Chu Feng put up the review plan on the wall and was ready to start it from tomorrow. For tonight he knew he wouldn’t be able to complete the homework by himself and was not ready to make things difficult for himself and borrowed the notes from Rong Yun to copy them.

Rong Yun also knew that Chu Feng would not be able to catch up in just one day so he said nothing and handed his notes to Chu Feng for copying.

Chu Feng did it quickly. “Let’s go get ready for bed and sleep early to have enough energy tomorrow. If you want to, use the computer before bed but only for an hour.” Chu Feng whispered to Rong Yun.

Rong Yun nodded and went forward to take the computer. Anyway, he didn’t want to use the internet and just wanted to write his story. He adapted to using the computer pretty quickly.

Rebirth and Redemption

Chapter 10

After school the teachers were all packing their bags and getting ready to leave in the office. At that time Teacher Dong found herself surrounded by her colleagues.

The English teacher first broke the silence. “Xiao Dong, what’s going on with Chu Feng today?”

“What?” Asked a confused Teacher Dong as she stopped packing her things.

The English teacher enthusiastically told her, “He didn’t sleep in my class today and instead listened to me very carefully. I just couldn’t get used to it.”

The History teacher quipped from the side, “ He didn’t sleep in my class today either and I thought that I was seeing things or something.”

The Chinese teacher who was picking up a paper from the side smiled. “He didn’t sleep in my class either but was listening very attentively. I was a little surprised myself too.”

Teacher Dong had thought they would be complaining about something  and didn’t expect that Chu Feng would get praised by all the teachers.

“But Xiao Dong how did you let Chu Feng sit with Rong Yun?” The Englsh teacher asked curiously.

“I wanted Rong Yun to help Chu Feng study. It’s already his third year and if he doesn’t struggle this year then he will regret it for a lifetime.” She didn’t explain that Chu Feng was the one who asked for this since she knew that no one would be willing to believe her even if she said so.

“This won’t affect the studies of Rong Yun?” The history teacher asked worriedly.

“I will keep an eye on his performance. If it declines due to Chu Feng then I will naturally change their seats to the previous positions.” If she let Rong Yun suffer because of Chu Feng she would be too biased.

“Okay, let’s wait and watch. If Chu Feng can make progress without delaying Rong Yun then that is naturally for the best.” The English teacher smiled.

After dinner Chu Feng didn’t let Rong Yun go to the library to study since he still has to pay attention to rest so it doesn’t matter if he just studies in the room.

After coming to the room Chu Feng had Rong Yun go to take a bath and also took one himself later. Anyway, they wouldn’t be leaving the room so they could just go to bed directly after studying.

After Rong Yun came out of the bathroom after his shower he saw a laptop on his desk.

The school allowed students to bring their laptops to school but most parents don’t really buy them for the students as they don’t feel they are important for the student’s studies.

“Come here.” Said Chu Feng who was sitting on the chair.

Rong Yun walked to him and Chu Feng caught his hands in his own. “This is for you. Since you like to write then just use this. It will save you the trouble of typing it all over again. You might not be used to typing everything at first but you’ll get used to it over time.”

When Chu Feng had worked as an actor he had met a lot of screenwriters and had heard them talk about their experiences with the computers. He knew now that they had some difficulties at first but later it was really convenient for them to use the laptops.

“No, you yourself you it mostly. I can’t take it. I can just use the one in the computer lab or the net cafe if I need to. “ This was Chu Feng’s so he obviously bought it since he needed it. Also it was too expensive so what if he broke it?

“Are you taking me as an outsider?” Chu Feng asked Rong Yun in a stern voice.

“No, that’s not it.”

Chu Feng laughed gently and pulled Rong Yun even closer by wrapping one of his arms around Rong Yun’s waist. “I want to stop using the internet so I’m giving it to you for using it. I’ll study better if I don’t get distracted by it. Also the computers in lab stop working from time to time. What if your data gets lost?”

“That’s not a big deal.” Rong Yun had already encountered this once or twice and it wasn’t a big deal really.

“Be good. There are too many people in the computer lab and can it compare to doing things in the comfort of your own room? You can just write here without getting distracted.” Chu Feng tried to coax him like a child. The internet in the lab is provided by the school is just enough to open a few websites but if you want to play a video or play games it doesn’t work that well. Also it stops working during specific hours to stop students from wasting too much time.

Rong Yun looked at the laptop on the desk which had a surface smooth enough to reflect its surroundings.

“Alright but tell me when you want to use it.” Rong Yun finally compromised since he could really write in the room without distractions as Chu Feng had said.

“I won’t need it. You supervise me. If I need to get any information then you can get it for me.” Chu Feng saw that Rong Yun agreed and his smile deepened.

“You can look it up yourself it’s not a big deal.” Rong Yun said thinking that for a person who uses the internet daily, to stop using it suddenly must be uncomfortable.

Chu Feng shook his head and said to Rong Yun very seriously. “Rong Yun, I want to test for A university with you but my previous grades aren’t good. I’m going to need to work harder so breaking the habit of using the internet is important.”

T/N: Sorry guys I just started Uni so It may take me a little while for regular updates.

Rebirth and Redemption

Chapter 9 part 2

The boys also saw Gui Heng and walked towards his table to say hello. They came towards the table and saw Rong Yun coming over with two bowls of soup which looked like they were for Gui Heng and Si Xian.

Theboys looked at each other with a knowing look and smiled while coming over.

Yu Zhiming “Yo, isn’t this the little gay pervert? Is he also going to be a maid now?”

Pang Xuan “Zhiming , be careful you don’t catch his germs and become a pervert like him.”

Yu Zhiming arrogantly waved his hand at Rong Yun. “Still don’t get lost? Get away and don’t affect Heng Ge’s meal. Don’t think that I won’t beat you up next time I see you around here.”

Rong Yun stood completely still and bowed his head a little, his heart a little stuffy and uncomfortable.

He had always known that there were bullies in Junior and high school but he had never been a target of bullies before. He didn’t know how to react to this.

In fact he is not the only one clueless on how to act. Gui Heng was also feeling very tangled. He knew as long as he said a word all these boys would stop bullying Rong Yun but he didn’t feel like he wanted to. These guys had been his friends for the last two years in High school and in comparison with his relationship with Rong Yun to that with these boys, the one with Rong Yun is only superficial.

Si Xian’s face was very cold and it was clear to see that the words of these boys made him very angry. He has also heard the rumors about Rong Yun’s sexuality but honeslty sexuality was a personal choice and no one had the right to bully someone for it. Also no one knows if the rumors are true and yet they choose to bully Rong Yun without even confirming it then it only feels very stupid to him.

“Still not leaving?” Pang Xuan spoke in a threatening manner.

“Who’s going where?”  Chu Feng who had just come back asked him coldly from behind.

Chu Feng right now looks very terrifying, his eyes so cold that it seemed like there was no warmth in them at all. It almost feels like that if someone says something he doesn’t like he will directly throw the plate in his hands at their face. The feeling Chu Feng is giving off right now is completely different from the past. Before if he was angry then he would fight or beat up someone and his anger would be vented but now the killing intent in his eyes and the quiet atmosphere around him makes people feel their scalp becoming numb with fear and terror.

Pang Xuan saw Chu Feng behind him and laughed awkwardly. “ Hey brother, I didn’t say it to you. Said it to Rong Yun,”

They are not in class with the other four so they don’t understand what’s happening there.

Chu Feng put the tray he was holding on the table and slid it towards Rong Yun and made him sit on a chair next to him. “Eat first.”

After that he looked at the several boys standing in front of him and said slowly. “Forget anything that happened on Friday and never speak about it again. Rong Yun is my friend now and no one is allowed to bully him anymore.”

All the boys suddenly looked at each other with blank faces as if they didn’t understand what was going on before simultaneously looking towards Gui Heng hoping he could explain what was happening. In fact Gui Heng himself felt as if he didn’t really understand anything so he only gestured for them to leave quietly and that he would explain later.

The boys only helplessly chose to turn around a leave obediently. They could only listen to Chu Feng as he was not someone they could afford to go against. The person they bullied before had become close to the boss in a few days, they could only choose to helplessly look at it. It was hard to accept for all of them except Gui Heng who had seen how much Chu Feng was taking care of Rong Yun. If He loves the house then he has to love the crow, based on this principle Gui Heng could not say Rong Yun was bad if he wanted to stay with Chu Feng.

After the others left,Chu Feng sat down next to Rong Yun but his face didn’t look very good.

Rong Yun was happy about Chu Feng protecting him but he didn’t want him to be upset by something related to him. He took a  piece of fried squid and put it in the bowl of Chu Feng. “This is delicious.”

He spoke softly.

Chu Feng looked at Rong Yun’s adorable appearance and all the suffocation in his heart subsided and he immediately revealed a smile. “This is for me. You can only have one.” He remembered that Rong Yun couldn’t have anything heavy or friend for now. He would raise his body for a while and then buy it for him to eat again.

“Okay I won’t eat it, you eat it.” Rong yun smile and picked up his own mung bean porridge.

“It’s okay to eat one.” Chu Feng gave him one but didn’t let him eat anymore.

“En.” Rong Yun smiled and nodded before starting to eat.

Gui Heng watched them both and was surprised to see that Chu Feng’s mood which was so bad before was changed in the blink of an eye and all Rong Yun had done was to give him a piece of food …..

After eating Gui Heng and Si Xian went to the supermarket to get some snacks. After studying for a long time they would often feel hungry so many students buy things to eat during the day. Rong Yun doesn’t buy anything not only to get to class early but also to save money so he says he doesn’t want anything when Chu Feng asks him. Chu Feng just gave money to Gui Heng and Si Xian to but something for him since they already know his taste and will not but anything he dislikes.

Accompanied by Rong Yun Chu Feng went back to the class where most students were either napping or resting with only a couple reading their books. At this time the classroom was very quiet with the occasional whisper or the gentle sound of a book page being turned.

Chu Feng had not paid attention to class for a long time so focusing in class and trying to remember the things he had learned in class made feel like the beginnings of a huge headache were rising in his head so after the lunch he planned to take a nap in class. After he put his head down and went quiet Rong Tun who wasn’t used to taking naps in class took out a small notebook out and started to write in it.

The peaceful atmosphere of the class made it easy for Rong Yun to think and write.

Probably because Chu Feng wasn’t used to sleeping at noon he was unable to sleep. After resting with closed eyes for a while Chu Feng was a little bored so he opened his eyes and looked quietly at Rong Yun who sat beside him.

Rong Yun was still immersed in writing and so hadn’t noticed that he wasn’t asleep.

After watching Rong Yun, smile, frown and looking confused Chu Feng seemed to see inside Rong Yun’s world through his emotions. Chu Feng looked into what Rong Yun was writing while he was completely lost in his own world.

After finishing a paragraph Rong Yun was going to start a new one but before that he noticed that Chu Feng had gotten up.

“Not sleeping anymore?” Rong Yun asked him gently.

“Not sleepy anymore.” Chu Feng smiled at him. “What are you writing about?” He didn’t want Rong Yun to know he was peeking into what he was writing.

“Nothing much. Just writing arbitrarily.” Rong Yun didn’t seem very interested in showing Chu Feng what  he had written.

“Do you want to write for a magazine?” Chu Feng asked him as if the previous topic was discarded.

These days there are many magazines catering to their age group and if you write then it is a good idea to submit your writings to them. Most of the magazines focus on the romance genre which Rong Yun can write very well in.

“Yeah,” Rong Yun didn’t hide his thoughts. “At the weekend I can go to the internet cafe and type it all and send it as an email. Hearing his words made Chu Feng frown since it was costing Rong Yun to use the internet cafe but for the students who didn’t have a computer, it was very common to go and use the internet cafe. Thinking of this Chu Feng has an idea but he didn’t mention it and instead asked him, “Do you like writing?”

“Yeah, it’s interesting.” Rong Yun replied as he closed his notebook. When Chu Feng was talking to him Rong Yun didn’t want to write but wanted to listen to him instead.

“Do you want to choose a major related to writing in the university?”  Chu Feng asked him.

“En, that’s my plan but I have to see the results of the college entrance examinations.” Rong Yun was interested in writing related majors.

“Which university do you want to go to? Is it a local college?”  Chu Feng asked him with narrowed eyes as he thought of something.

“Yeah, I want to test for A university in our city.” Rong Yun replied.

A university is one of the best universities in the areas which specializes in many departments and the environment and location of the campus is also ideal. It’s indeed a good choice.

Chu Feng thought for a moment before he nodded. “Then we’ll test for A University.” Since Rong Yun wants to go to A University then Chu Feng would accompany him. Although it would be hard but he has enough time to catch upto Rong Yun.

Rebirth and Redemption

Chapter 9 part 1

When the students came back to class, they were all very surprised to see Rong Yun sitting with Chu Feng. Then they figured that since the two were sitting together it must have been agreed by the teacher so they didn’t pay much attention to it anymore. The girls felt a little sympathetic for Rong Yun since Chu Feng was easy to anger and Rong Yun had all those rumors spread around about him being gay. What would happen if Chu Feng heard those rumors about Rong Yun and beat him up or was disgusted by him? What they didn’t know was that this seating arrangement was requested by Chu Feng who felt very satisfied with this.

Despite how sympathetic those girls were they dared not show any dissatisfaction in front of Chu Feng so they said nothing.

Soon after the third class began and Rong Yun opened his books and took out his notebook and started to take notes which was the same as usual. What was surprising was that Chu Feng who was usually either looking out of the window or sleeping or using his phone in class was unusually attentive in class and was actually paying attention to the lecture and was also taking notes in class.

The English teacher stared at him for a while and made sure her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her before she started teaching again, still a little amazed.

About  the impression he left even Chu Feng felt a little helpless. He left such an impression and now he had to carry this title of inattentive student during his rebirth. Luckily he was reborn and had a chance to start again.

In fact thinking back to it when the liberal arts and Science sections were being divided he didn’t think too much about it. He didn’t think there was much difference between it since they would have the same grading systems so seeing Si Xian choosing Liberal arts he followed his example and chose the same.

He honestly had no impression of ever learning the things being taught in class today. He felt he would have to relearn everything in class. The only class that he actually felt like he understood was English since he had stayed abroad for a few years and aside from that learning English was a must for an actor.

During this time the attention of Rong Yun had been centered on the black board. Breaking away from his attention he looked at Chu Feng from the corner of his eyes. When he saw the serious face of Chu Feng somehow his heart felt calm and the corners of his mouth softened to form a small smile. Somehow he didn’t remember what he had been listening to afterwards.

After the morning classes were over, Chu Feng took Rong Yun to the small canteen to eat lunch. The small canteen was in the opposite direction to the Dining hall but the distance to both from their class was the same. The food served in the small canteen was more elaborate and accordingly it was also more expensive. During his High school years Chu Feng always ate at the small canteen but at that time it was due to the fact that there were less people here and it was more quiet that the Dining Hall.  Now his reason was the let Rong Yun eat better so he can have energy to keep learning in the afternoon classes.

Since it was Rong Yun’s first time coming to the small canteen he was confused on what to eat. In the Dining Hall workers would just give everyone the same things to eat while in the small canteen everyone could choose what they wanted to eat and then pay for what they choose accordingly at the checkout.

“You can get anything you like but you have to remember that you can’t eat lighter food.” Chu Feng reminded Rong Yun while handing him a plate.

“I can eat anything, you choose for me.” Rong Yun whispered softly. For a long time he hadn’t eaten with anything and now he had Chu Feng to accompany him to eat. Whenever Rong Yun thinks of this his eyes felt a little sour but his heart was very warm.

“Alright, you go and get some soup for us and I’ll get the food.” Chu Feng smiled and said. “Be careful and don’t burn yourself.”

The soup was free and the students could take however much they wanted. Rong Yun nodded.

While Rong Yun was getting the soup, Si Xian and Gui Heng had already found a place to sit.

“Rong Yun, here.” Si Xian raised his arm and called for him. Rong Yun walked towards them. Just as he was sitting down there was a commotion at the entrance of the canteen. Rong Yun looked up and suddenly his hands holding the bowls shook a little. The group entering the canteen was the group of boys who had bullied him last Friday.

Gui Heng looked at those people and frowned  a little. Generally these people will not come to eat in the small canteen. In fact Gui Heng himself is a little embarrassed when he sat with Rong Yun today himself. He was with the group when they bullied Rong Yun but after Chu Feng brought Rong Yun to live in the same dorm as them he didn’t dare to say anything in the presence of Chu Feng and he didn’t have any chance to ask Chu Feng the reason for his behaviour. He didn’t have a chance to talk to Rong Yun and as long as Rong Yun didn’t bother him, he wouldn;t care about him but now standing with these people would be equal to putting himself in the danger zone.
