RER Chapter 16 part 2

The contract and the advertisement content should actually be given to the actor a day in advance but since Chu Feng was now a senior in high school it was very rare for him to have time to shoot and they could only squeeze time on the weekend for the shooting.

The makeup artist Kitty working on Chu Feng was also one of the top makeup artists in the circle. Chu Feng had also worked with Kitty in his past life and knew she was a very cheerful woman.

Seeing Chu Feng, Kitty smiled, “Director You, where did you get this handsome boy? He looks more suitable for the role than the previous one.”

Director You smiled proudly while presenting Chu Feng to her, “This is Sister Xin’s son.”

“Well that would explain the handsomeness. He has it in his genes.” Kitty smiled and said, “Come on, let Auntie have a look at what I’m working with today.”

Chu Feng smiled and walked over and said, “Sister Kitty, you have to be a little older for me to call you auntie.”

Kitty was six years older than Chu Feng. After graduating from high school, because of financial difficulties at home, she did not go to college, so she came out to learn makeup with a well-known makeup artist. Kitty was very talented and went out to be a professional within two years. She began to travel between the various movie crews, moving up  from the initial makeup of the extras to step by step moving  to the present protagonist’s main make up artist, the sadness and struggles in the middle of the journey could only be known by her.

“Do you know me?” Kitty was surprised. She was just a behind-the-scenes worker after all.

“I heard my mother mention that once when my mother did a magazine cover, you did her makeup and she was very satisfied with the amazing result.” Chu Feng smiled in very polite manner. This happened about a year ago. In fact, he didn’t care about this kind of thing at first, but after entering the circle, he always had to improve his interpersonal relationship, so he made a special adjustment to his behavior to make himself more likable.

Kitty smiled and curled her eyes: “I was just a coincidence. It is my honor to have the opportunity to do Sister Xin’s Makeup.”

Song Xin has her own makeup artist, but that day the makeup artist had acute gastroenteritis and really couldn’t come. Director Min asked Kitty to come. Song Xin and the magazine were very satisfied with the result. It was a very pleasant cooperation.

Director You interrupted the conversation between the two people at the right time and said, “Time is running out, we will talk later so let’s put on makeup on Chu Feng first.”

Kitty took a look at the time and really wanted to hurry up so she smiled and pulled out the chair to let Chu Feng sit down. She then opened the makeup case and started putting on makeup on Chu Feng.  Boys’ makeup is actually relatively simple, plus Chu Feng has a good foundation so it didn’t take much time.

During this period, Director You sat next to Chu Feng and told him the content of the advertisement, so that he could know as soon as possible.

This is a drink for students, rich in nutrition, and very suitable for students who are mentally overloaded. Moreover, it is suitable to drink at any time, which can not only supplement the nutrients needed every day, but also relieve fatigue and benefit health.

And this time the advertisement is about the scene of students drinking this beverage at different times of the day.

Chu Feng was originally a student and a senior in high school. This kind of advertisement couldn’t be more appropriate. Although some stars can pretend to be younger, they are not as convincing as real students in their acting.

After telling Chu Feng what he was going to shoot, Director You specially took three bottles of different flavors for him to taste, namely blueberry, strawberry, and the original basic flavor. Chu Feng picked the blueberry bottle, and after getting Kitty’s permission, he opened it and took a sip. The taste was not bad though sweet, because most of the ingredients were walnuts pulp and milk, so it had a little thicker consistency, but it didn’t taste like pure milk. Because the blueberry pulp was added, the color was a bit purple and looked a bit weird. It might have been to prove that the real materials were used as ingredients, so this color was a bit weak.

“How does it taste? I will give you a box if you like it and you can take it bac.” Director You asked him. The manufacturer provided a lot of samples, which would not be taken back so they would be distributed to everyone after the shooting.

“Not bad.” Chu Feng replied still sipping the drink. The feeling of drinking this is like drinking fruity soy milk. He guessed that Rong Yun would like it.

“That’s OK, you take a box with you when the filming is over.” Director You smiled generously.

Chu Feng was not polite and said, “Thank you.”

An hour later, all the staff were in place, the group performers had put on makeup and clothes and the shooting of the commercial started.

The first scene shot was aimed at a bottle of drink, and Chu Feng had to take the bottle of drink away as if he was on his way to school . This seemingly simple action had somethings the actor needed to pay attention to. During this scene the actor must keep the front of the bottle facing the camera while moving. If you picked it up normally, only the back of  hand will be left facing the camera when you give your back to the camera while walking away, which is very unsightly and not the objective of the ad. If the box of the drink was taken away in parallel to the camera so that the drink keeps facing the camera it must be done in a way that does not look too deliberate so that it wouldn’t seem too artificial to the on lookers.

This kind of thing was naturally not difficult for Chu Feng due to his acting experience in his past life. When he took the bottle, the front of the bottle was still facing the lens, but when he was about to leave the lens, he turned his wrist to make the front of the bottle turn  fifteen degrees so that the camera could see the bottle. His fingers seemed to be wrapped around the drink while still exposing the name of the drink to the camera. Such a natural rotation gives people a sense of rush to go to school with a drink.

This short shot of two or three seconds contained no problems.

Focusing on these little actions and body movements were all habits gained by Chu Feng from years of experience and the guidance of his seniors in acting  and slowly evolved into his subconscious actions when shooting so that the effects of the shooting can be without any sense of contradiction.

“Pass!” Director You exclaimed happily. At first, he wondered if he needed to instruct Chu Feng, but with this shot, he knew that all the instructions were not needed. Chu Feng performed very well, and Director You didn’t know if someone had taught him or if he was just that talented.

The following shooting went smoothly. In the morning, they shot the scenes for breakfast and breaks after arriving at school, and in the afternoon, the shots of after exercise and before bed were taken.

Chu Feng’s lens sense was recognized by everyone in the filming crew, and his performance was also very natural. He was the very image of a handsome and serious student and the ad was just like the realistic version of “Chu Feng’s Day in school life”.

In fact, Chu Feng also considered a lot in terms of lens performance. If Chu Feng were replaced by someone else, he would probably consider looking handsome and highlighting the image of a handsome student. This is also the usual practice of many advertisements. But Chu Feng did not make any extra flashy moves this time, but instead just showed the vigor and liveliness that a student should have. After all this was a drink for students, and usually parents buy things like this for their children who are students. Parents liked active, scholarly, healthy but not overwhelmingly flashy or egoistic children so only if the advertisement left a good impression on parents would those parents consider buying the drinks for their children to try. If the protagonist of the advertisement looks like a flashy young man with no discipline and interest in studying and winks at the camera from time to time then the parents would probably reject the image showed by the drink and then the drink would not be sold at all. Despite being popular in the youth, the ad would not attract the intended audience which would result in failure of the ad.

This idea of Chu Feng coincides with Director You, so even if Chu Feng didn’t need to talk or make any excessive moves in the ad, Director You was very satisfied with the results from the shooting of the ad.

As for the impression given to the student section of the audience then based on Director You’s years of experience, as long as the presentation of the advertisement was good, the colors were bright, the background music attractive then the appearance of Chu Feng was enough to leave a good impression in the students even without him trying to be cool on camera.

And Chu Feng also deliberately curtailed his acting skills that might be too mature for his age and experience, showing a jerky side in some places so as not to make the experienced director suspect suspicious. After all, some things that require experience and couldn’t be explained by only natural talent of an actor.

After the commercial was shot, it was already four in the afternoon. Director You invited everyone to eat together after packing up and he treated them for dinner.

After Chu Feng took off his makeup, he told Director You that he needed go back to school to study and would not go to dinner with them.

Director You also knew that for Chu Feng learning was the current top priority, so he didn’t force him to attend dinner. After wrapping a red envelope for Chu Feng, he asked his assistant to carry a box of drinks to Chu Feng’s school while dropping him off and then personally sent him to the car.

After Chu Feng said goodbye to Director You he left quickly. He didn’t really want to go back to study but he said he would have dinner with Rong Yun, he would definitely not miss the appointment. The money for this advertisement would probably not be available until  the next Tuesday but the red given by Director You was probably enough for him to get a good dinner for Rong Yun.

The author has something to say:

    [Small Theater]

Chu Xiaofeng: I am the Main protagonist! I ask for extra scenes!

Rong XiaoYun: ( pointing to himself) What about me?

Chu Xiaofeng: You are the wife of the Main protagonist!

 Rong XiaoYun:…

Chu Xiaofeng: (Nodding seriously) En.. more scenes must be added for my wife too!!

RER Chapter 16 Part 1

Early Saturday morning, Chu Feng was ready to set off. The car to pick him up is almost here and he just needed to go downstairs and wait.  Rong Yun opened his eyes in a daze, with a husky voice filled with sleep asked Chu Feng: “Are you going out?”

“Yeah.” Chu Feng walked over, tucked the quilt for him, and whispering, “Its still early in the morning, you can keep sleeping until you wake up naturally.”

“Yeah…” Rong Yun replied softly, closing his eyes and preparing to continue sleeping. The weekend is a good time to sleep in so it shouldn’t be missed but knowing Chu Feng is not here today somehow he felt a little empty.

“I will put the meal card on your table, eat well, don’t save money. Wait until I come back in the evening so we can eat together at night.” Chu Feng told him softly.

“Yeah.” Rong Yun closed his eyes and answered. Hearing that Chu Feng would come back for dinner with him in the evening made his melancholy mood slightly improved.

“If anything happens then call me. You won’t be bothering me.” Chu Feng smiled, “You are welcome to check on your boyfriend at any time.”

“Who wants to check on you…” Rong Yun murmured and pulled the quilt up a little, blocking the corners of his mouth.

Chu Feng chuckled lightly and didn’t disturb him anymore. He took his things and went out.

The bedroom was quiet again. Gui Heng and Si Xian were not there this weekend. No one would make a noise for Rong Yun to be disturbed. After a while, the sleepy Rong Yun fell asleep again.

The location of the advertisement was set in Director You’s private studio, where there is a very good set up available. Although the place is not too big, it is well enough arranged for advertising.

When Chu Feng arrived the director was already waiting for him inside.

“Director You.” Chu Feng greeted him first.

Director You walked over and patted Chu Feng on the shoulder and said with a smile: “Don’t be so unfamiliar with me and call me Uncle You. Your mother said that you are willing to do this for me in the nick of time, which really saved me a lot of trouble.”

” I’d better call you “Director You” on the set. After all, I’m here to work for you. I will call you “Uncle You” when the work is over. It’s an honor for me to be your junior but it’s still better to be professional here in case I create problems for you.” Chu Feng smiled and replied.

Private and business matters should always be separated, Chu Feng learned and acted on this principle in the past life, otherwise others would think that his work attitude was not serious, or he wanted to build relationships based on this familiar way of addressing others. In this circle, you still have to be proper and respectful when you address others and keep your eyes carefully open to avoid being criticized.

Chu Feng’s words were not extreme but Director You was a little surprised. After all, he always talked to Chu Tang (Chu Feng’s father) about children, Chu Tang always looked very dissatisfied with Chu Feng. In of his few contacts with Chu Feng, he also found that Chu Feng was a very proud child and was somewhat rebellious. If these two points could be changed, Chu Feng’s appearance and family background would make him a good seedling to enter to turbid soil the entertainment industry. When he saw Chu Feng today, although Chu Feng had just said a few words, he could already feel that Chu Feng’s sense of rebellion seemed to be gone and the person seemed to be just steady and proud.

“Okay.” Director You smiled and took a document from the table and handed it to him, and said, “This is the contract.  You take a look at it. If there is no problem, sign it. We are ready to start work.”

“Okay.” Chu Feng took the contract and signed it directly without looking at it, which made Director You very happy.

He smiled at Chu Feng and said, “Why didn’t you look at it a little longer?”

“No need.” Chu Feng said, “You are a well famed director and you won’t cheat me.”

He actually did this because, first, it would make Director You think that he completely believed him and leave a good impression. Second, his mother must have read this contract, and he really doesn’t need to do anything extra.

“Good boy.” Director You laughed. Chu Feng’s words obviously pleased him, “Let’s go, I’ll take you to the dressing room and tell you the content of the advertisement by the way.”

RER Chapter 15 Part 2

After they finished shopping and returned to the bedroom, Si Xian was already working on his homework, and Gui Heng was on a call in the corridor. He was mysterious and Chu Feng didn’t know who he was calling.

Chu Feng first asked Rong Yun to take a bath, then he took his cell phone out and contacted his mother her about the tutor. She sent him the cell phone number of the tutor and he thanked her before saying goodbye and calling the tutor.

The other party was connected quickly and was a boy with a very gentle, clear voice. After Chu Feng first introduced himself, he asked about the other party’s school, major, and teaching experience. The other party didn’t feel dissatisfied and answered them one by one. After all, it is necessary to make sure the tutor is professional. The other party should inquire more carefully, and it would save trouble later.

Finally, Chu Feng asked about the tutoring fee. His share was naturally given by his mother, so she did not mention the tutoring fee to him. Chu Feng asked about it not to pay for it himself, but for Rong Yun since he wanted to bring Rong Yun with himself for tutoring.

The other party told Chu Feng the hourly price. Chu Feng simply calculated and determined that this price was still affordable with his monthly pocket money and said, “I would like you to be my tutor. But I have one more thing to discuss with you before we finalize this.”

“Alright I’m listening.” Came the reply in the gentle voice of the male on the other side.

Hearing this Chu Feng knew that no matter what Chu Feng asked, the tutor would try his best to satisfy it. He understood it must have something to do with the higher than usual tutoring fee.

“I have a classmate who wants to study with me. He has better grades and doesn’t require you to spend too much time. We will come to class with you every week, do you think it is okay? I will pay for the tutoring fee.” Chu Feng explained.

“Of course. As long as you don’t mind if someone divides your time with me, I have no issue.” The tutor had no opinion on this. In fact, teaching two students at the same time was more profitable for him.

“Well, that’s alright. I have something to do this Saturday, so let’s make an appointment for class on Sunday. I will send you the address for the meeting place in advance.” Chu Feng arranged it according to his own schedule.  He knew that Rong Yun didn’t need additional tutoring in other classes, but his English and mathematics still needed more work.

“Okay. Since you are two people, let me give you a 20% discount on the tutoring fee for the second person.” The other person is also a fair person and didn’t seem to want to take advantage of Chu Feng.

“Thank you so much. Please don’t inform my mother about a second person joining us for our sessions. I will inform her myself when the need arises.” Chu Feng felt that there was no need to tell his mother. If his mother knew then she would not object but Rong Yun might still feel under pressure.

“Don’t worry, my mouth is very strict.” The other party smiled.

Chu Feng said preparing to disconnect the call “Okay, see you on Sunday.”

“See you on Sunday.” After the other party responded, the two hung up.

When Chu Feng entered the corridor, Gui Heng was still on the phone. Chu Feng didn’t know what he was doing for so long, but seeing Gui Heng’s serious face, he didn’t bother him and went back to the bedroom.

When Rong Yun came out of the shower, Chu Feng seated him on his chair, took the towel in his hand to wipe his hair, and said, “Go out with me this Sunday.”

“Where are we going? “Rong Yun asked.

“My mother found a tutor for me and I was hoping you would come with me.” Chu Feng didn’t hide it either.

“Huh?” Rong Yun turned his head to look at him, thought for a moment but still shook his head in the end, “You can just go by yourself; I don’t need tutoring.”

“I have just discussed with my tutor, let’s go together.” Chu Feng said.

“I…” It’s not that Rong Yun didn’t want to find a tutor, but the tutoring fee was really not cheap, and he didn’t have the budget for this.  Chu Feng approached his ear and whispered, “I will pay the tutoring fee, and you will go with me.”

“How can I let you do that?” Rong Yun frowned with disapproval. He really had to reason nor excuse to let Chu Feng pay for himself like this.

Chu Feng stretched out his hand and rubbed his eyebrows while saying, “Don’t frown.”  Rong Yun had to relax his facial expression but continued to look at him.

“I will finish the commercial shooting this weekend, and I will definitely make the money needed for your tuition.” Chu Feng has a budget. Although he has enough pocket money, he can’t do a lot with this money.

“That still…” Rong Yun was interrupted by Chu Feng before he finished speaking.

Chu Feng said, “I should pay for you now. After all, now our relationship is different…”

Chu Feng’s words tickled Rong Yun’s heart like a feather, making him feel itchy and a little joyful.

Afterwards, Chu Feng stopped lowering his voice and said, “It just so happens that you are going to help me listen to the tutoring lesson, if I forget to anything then I can ask you.” This high-sounding reason was naturally for Si Xian.

“All right?” Chu Feng asked. Naturally, Rong Yun had no reason to refuse now, and he was happy to have the opportunity to stay with Chu Feng on the weekend.

Chu Feng then asked Si Xian if he wanted to be with them. In fact, this sentence just so that Si Xian didn’t think too much about it, and he didn’t really mean to let Si Xian be with them. He also knew that Si Xian would not take tutoring with them, after all, it is better to teach one-on-one.

Si Xian refused saying that his family had already found a tutor for him. Although his results are also good, things that should be consolidated should take more energy and time to consolidate and the tutor he found was helping in this greatly.

Chu Feng didn’t say much. Thinking of going to class with Rong Yun on weekends, Chu Feng felt that this decision was right. He might be less motivated to go alone in the later period, but with Rong Yun, he would be particularly active. “Even if you don’t do it for yourself, you have to do it for Rong Yun,” Was what he was thinking.

Apology

Hi everyone, I haven’t dropped this novel but Covid-19 hit me hard with the online classes and exams and getting sick. Also I don’t exactly have the best internet over here so it mostly just stressed me too much to juggle translating along with my studying and dealing with being sick. I’ll try to update more regularly by dividing chapters by parts so please look forward to it.

Hope you all stay safe and healthy

Chapter 15 part 1

Chu Feng still brought Rong Yun to the cafeteria for dinner. Gui Heng and Si Xian were also with them. The four of them ate together since they were all used to it by now.

Chu Feng had also gradually figured out Rong Yun’s eating preferences. Rong Yun was not an absolute carnivore like most boys. Instead he liked a reasonable combination of meat and vegetables. Generally, if there are three dishes, only one meat dish is enough for him. As for vegetarian dishes, Rong Yun wasn’t picky about food and he usually ate whatever Chu Feng gave him.

Putting a piece of ribs on Rong Yun’s plate, Chu Feng asked him, “Are you going home this weekend?”

“I already went back last week. I want to stay at school this week and study.” Rong Yun replied in between bites. The school had self-study rooms, and the canteen also serves meals normally. Staying at school and studying would gradually become the normal choice for most senior high school students especially as they got closer to exams.

“Well, I won’t go back this week either but I have to go out on Saturday and I’ll come back in the evening.” Chu Feng felt that he should tell Rong Yun about his schedule to give him a heads up.

Rong Yun nodded and said, “Okay.”

“You won’t ask me where I’m going?” Chu Feng raised his eyebrows since most people in a relationship would want to know more.

Rong Yun shook his head, “You will naturally tell me if you want to say it.” Rong Yun felt that Chu Feng also had his own personal space and was not obligated to report everything to him. Even if he wanted to know, he still wouldn’t ask more, lest he appear to be troublesome.

Chu Feng smiled and explained, “I’m going to shoot an advertisement.” If the advertisement is broadcast smoothly, everyone would definitely know. Instead of explaining it then, it was better to just say it now.

“Advertisment?” Rong Yun’s eyes widened, staring at him in surprise.

Si Xian and Gui Heng also turned their eyes to him, waiting for him to explain.

“Well, it’s a favor for someone I know.” Chu Feng didn’t elaborate. Both Gui Heng and Si Xian knew about his family’s situation, and the opportunity to be in an advertisement was big not enough to surprise. Rong Yun may not know his family yet, but Chu Feng planned tell him eventually in the future, mainly because he was afraid that after knowing about it, Rong Yun will not be able to accept it. After all, his mother’s identity was already surprising enough not to mention his father.

Rong Yun knew that Chu Feng’s family was very well off  and some people in the class had discussed that Chu Feng is a rich second generation. But Rong Yun didn’t know exactly what the family business was and neither did other people in the class. Gui Heng and Si Xian, who did know, had strict mouths. The classmates who liked to gossip did not get anything useful from them.

“Are you planning to enter the entertainment industry?” Si Xian asked him.

Chu Feng smiled and did not admit or deny, only told them “That person asked my mother to recommend someone as a favor, and my mother called me at noon today. Thinking about making some money, I agreed. After all, it’s just an advertisement. It won’t take long.”

After hearing this, Si Xian nodded, “It’s really hard to say no in such a case. That’s OK, I’ll  have you sign five hundred signatures for one dime each and I will take it out to sell when you become popular. Hopefully  it will at least double in worth.”

“This is too cheap for you.” Chu Feng smiled. As soon as he turned his head, he saw Rong Yun’s brows furrowed slightly, but on the surface it seemed that there was nothing wrong with him but instead of looking at Chu Feng again, he looked down at his bowl of rice. Chu Feng didn’t say anything, but just picked up some vegetables for him to let him eat more.

After the meal, Chu Feng took Rong Yun to go to the supermarket. When he came back last weekend, he only brought the food his mother asked him to bring to Rong Yun. He ate it that night. There were no other snacks in the dormitory, and no milk. It just happened that there was not so much homework today, so he wanted to bring Rong Yun to go and buy some snacks and milk.

Walking on the road, Chu Feng looked at Rong Yun, who had been silent, and asked, “Are you unhappy?” He intuitively felt that Rong Yun’s silence was related to him saying that he was going to shoot an advertisement.

“No.” Rong Yun followed him, still not looking at him.

Chu Feng stopped to look at Rong Yun seriously, “In many things, I may not be careful. I hope you are happy, no matter when, so when you are unhappy, you must tell me and not let me guess because  I can’t guess it every time, okay?”

Rong Yun also stopped, looked up at Chu Feng, and said awkwardly, “I’m not unhappy. Its just that… you really want to enter the entertainment industry in the future?”

“If I say yes, would you object to it?” Chu Feng was very concerned about Rong Yun’s thoughts. Since he was determined to continue this path in the future, he had to talk about this with Rong Yun.

Rong Yun lowered his head and whispered, “There will be many beautiful people in the entertainment industry…”

Chu Feng was amused by him. There are indeed a lot of temptations in the entertainment industry. Rong Yun was uneasy because he cares too much about him. Chu Feng took Rong Yun’s hand and said, “Rong Yun, wherever I go, the thread holding me will always be in your hand. So you don’t have to worry about it. This is my promise to you and I will always fulfill it.” The thought of a thread connecting them being in his hand made Rong Yun’s mood better instantly. Chu Feng was really good to him, he should trust Chu Feng more.

“Well, I’m just a little worried.” Rong Yun also explained.

“I know. About the situation of my family, I think I should tell you a little bit.” Chu Feng prepared to reveal a little bit of it as not to scare Rong Yun, “My family in engaged in the  entertainment industry , you may not know much about this, anyway you  should know that they own an entertainment company. Even if I don’t enter the entertainment circle, if I take over the family’s business in the future so I still have to get involved in the entertainment circle. Because of my family’s reasons, I have had a  better understanding of this circle since I was a child, and I also know how to be independent, so it won’t happen. You can rest assured.”

Rong Yun was surprised. He really didn’t expect that Chu Feng’s family owned an entertainment company, and that the news that no one could find was what actually Chu Feng personally told him so easily.

“Rong Yun.” Chu Feng squeezed Rong Yun’s hand and said, “I will only be with you in my life. If one day you don’t want me, I won’t find anyone else.”

“That won’t happen. That’s…” Rong Yun said anxiously, but he blushed after speaking. It seemed a bit too proactive to explain this to Chu Feng.

Chu Feng smiled, “I can remember these words, you don’t want to regret them in the future.” He knew that Rong Yun would not change his heart. He had been a bastard for ten years in his past life, and Rong Yun still couldn’t let him go. Rong Yun was a very dedicated person, even a bit stupidly dedicated  making people feel distressed for him.

“Um…I won’t regret it…” Rong Yun said softly.  Chu Feng looked around, then sighed helplessly, “I really want to kiss you now, but the location is really inappropriate.” They are on the road with people coming and going, which is really inconvenient.

Rong Yun blushed, and dragged Chu Feng to the direction of the supermarket, saying as he walked, “Stop talking!” Chu Feng watched as the blush on Rong Yun’s face slowly spread to his ears, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepening. It was a pity that its really inappropriate to kiss over here. It would be very troublesome if it were seen by students who are also going to the supermarket. Chu Feng was not afraid of coming out, but it was still not the time yet.

RER CHAPTER 14

Chapter 14 Talking

After the weekend, the intense and busy school life once again occupied most of the senior high school students’ time.

Teacher Fang was worried that after Chu Feng persisted for a week, he would return to his old ways. She often went to the back door of the classroom to check the situation when there was no class for this reason. What made her satisfied was that Chu Feng still listened to the lessons carefully and took notes very seriously. Yesterday, the teachers also praised Chu Feng’s papers as very well written. Not to mention the correction rate decreasing, even his attitude makes them very satisfied.

After having lunch, Rong Yun would return to the classroom to do his homework. Chu Feng did not stay outside after lunch either and often went back with Rong Feng.

In the past, during the noon break, Rong Yun would take out his own small book to write in class, but after being  given the computer by Chu Feng, he changed to writing his homework at noon so that when he returned at night he could finish the rest as soon as possible and then he could write with a computer more easily and could write a lot.

Today Chu Feng and Rong Yun studied for a while in class, and in the midst of it Chu Feng’s phone suddenly vibrated. When Chu Feng picked it up, it was his mother who called. Chu Feng explained to Rong Yun and went out to answer the phone.

“Hey, mom?” Chu Feng found a place where nobody was around and called her back.

With a smile in her voice, Song Xin asked, “Did I bother you?”

“No, class hasn’t started yet, Is everything okay?” He knew if it wasn’t for something urgent, his mother would not call him at this time.

“Do you remember Director You?” Song Xin asked him.

“Uncle You? Of course, I remember.” Chu Feng said.

Chu Feng is no stranger to Director You who has worked with his mother many times and is also familiar with his father, so sometimes he was invited for dinner at their home. Chu Feng was got more familiar with Director You when he was about to enter the entertainment industry in his last life. Although there was his mother’s reputation at that time, as a newcomer, the opportunities were still quite limited. Though for Director You, he didn’t care if Chu Feng was a newcomer or not. Just because he felt Chu Feng was suitable, he gave him a chance to shoot advertisements. With this opportunity Chu Feng also made a name for himself and the road to stardom went smoothly in the future for him.

Speaking of You Dao *, Chu Feng has always felt it was a pity that Director You is a very talented director however he has no interest in filming movies and TV shows and only likes to make advertisements. Unless it was a friend in the circle who sought him out, he barely went to be the Assistant director for others, nor did he participate in any kind of publicity activities. Therefore, You Dao’s reputation has been very loud in the circle, but few people outside the circle know him. After all, after an advertisement comes out the audience is watching stars and the products. Who will be free enough to check who is the director behind the advertisement? So the name Director You is not well known, but if you mention the advertisements he has directed, people who have seen them will definitely have an impression, and whether it is the advertisement or the product itself, the evaluation is always good.

Although Chu Feng had been a bit of a bastard before, he was a grateful one. So, after he became popular, whenever the Director You asked him to shoot advertisements, as long as he had the time and the type  of Ad was appropriate, he would never refuse and the price would not be more than any regular artist.

“En, Director You had previously received an advertisement for a drink. The male artist who had been scheduled suddenly broke the contract. However, You Dao has to submit the advertisement next weekend. Now it is very troublesome to find someone in a hurry to replace the artist because they do n’t know if the new one is reliable. I had mentioned you before to him, so he wanted me to ask if you are interested in making this advertisement. He thinks you are very suitable. “

Song Xin and Chu Tang did not object to such things as children entering the entertainment industry but Song Xin also knew that Chu Feng was now in the stage of intense study, and it was not good to take up his time. But You Dao asked for her help here and she couldn’t refuse him. It doesn’t take long to shoot ads, so it is still acceptable if Chu Feng agrees.

“How much will Uncle You give me?” Chu Feng asked directly. Now he was no better than he was at the time when he had no independent economic ability and he still had a lot of things he wanted to buy for Rong Yun. Naturally, he couldn’t ignore the price at all.

“You child …” Song Xin laughed. “Will I lose your money?”

“No but isn’t this the first time I’m making money myself? Of course, I have to ask clearly.” He would not tell him mother his plans yet, after all it was not the time yet.

Song Xin told him the offer over there.

After listening to it, Chu Feng felt that the price was already very kind for a no name artist like himself. After all, others didn’t even know that he was Song Xin ’s son. You Dao couldn’t give him the price due to his friendship to Song Xin .

“Okay, I’ll take the ad,” Chu Feng said.

“That’s fine, I’ll tell You Dao in a while. I asked and this advertisement can be finished in one day, and it won’t delay you too much.” Song Xin said.

” Are we shooting on the weekend?” Chu Feng asked.

“En. On this Saturday so I’ll ask the driver to pick you up in the morning.” Song Xin hasn’t picked up any work recently, and the driver just happened to be free for Chu Feng to use.

“Okay.” Chu Feng answered, and asked, “Did you find out about tutoring?”

“I was about to tell you that I have found a tutor. It is a student who is a freshman this year in a key university. Enough to teach high schoolers like you. “Song Xin said,” I’ll send his phone number to your phone in a while and you can contact him yourself. The tuition has been negotiated, you can set the time with him for the class by yourself. “

Chu Feng said,” OK, I know. “

“Then I’ll hang up. ” Song Xin said her goodbyes as Director You over there was still waiting for her answer.

       “Okay,” Chu Feng said.

After getting his first job, Chu Feng was very happy, at least he took another step towards economic independence.

Putting the phone back in his pocket, Chu Feng turned around and saw that  Gui Heng was standing behind him. During this time he had been busy studying and had less contact with Gui Heng, but Chu Feng did not want to lose this friend.

Gui Heng saw Chu Feng turn towards himself and his eyes flashed for a moment, then he smiled reluctantly, “Why are you standing in the corridor?”

“Called my mother.” Chu Feng looked at him for a moment and said : “Let’s talk, how about it?”

Gui Heng took a moment to think it over before  nodding : “Okay, I already wanted to talk to you.”

The two went to the small staircase where nobody came.

Gui Heng first said: “Brother, I think you have suddenly changed a lot. Of course, it is a good thing for you to start studying. I understand this, but I just don’t feel good about how you suddenly have no time to spend with me and our other friends.” Gui Heng at this age is still very straightforward. That kind of impulsive and brash teenager.

Chu Feng sighed in his heart, “I also wanted to talk to you about this issue. Gui Heng, have you ever thought that we can’t rely on family forever?”

Gui Heng looked at him, his eyes seemed to ask: why not?

“Now at our age, we don’t know much about the situation at home, and our parents won’t tell us anything. But you must understand that this won’t last forever. Especially the second-generation rich and third-generation young masters like us. No one can guarantee that the family will prosper.” Chu Feng put on a big brother’s attitude,

“Gui Heng, our parents think we will grow up one day and support our family but the people we are right now, are we really okay like this? Our parents cannot accompany us for a lifetime and how many years can we live on the money of our parents and the way we spend money right now are we going to be able to stand on our own feet?”

If we do nothing then after our parents are gone, we have no person to support us,  who you think will care about you? Although the real world is a little far from us right now, we will have to face it sooner or later. It is always beneficial to recognize this fact early. I can see that your family does not want you to continue to go to politics like them this. That means that when your father backs down, you won’t be able to continue like this. “

“We grew up together since child. I am a few months older than you I can be considered your brother. This affection will never fade. As your brother I think it is necessary to remind you that in your future you  may have to face many things. I do not want us to have fame or fortunes, just hope we can be financially independent, to be able to feed ourselves. I think your parents you should also expect only expect this from you. “

In the normal course of things, it was expected that Gui Heng would go abroad for university. In the last life Gui Heng had gone through some twists and turns but fortunately did not get too hurt but the future is still far and who can say that whatever happened in the last life will still happen?

Gui Heng pouted petulantly and said, “Brother, why are you suddenly thinking so far?” He never really thought about it, but Chu Feng’s analysis was not unreasonable.

“I don’t want to realize that I didn’t cherish something when I lose it so I have to use my own ability to give the best to those I cherish, both materially and spiritually,” Chu Feng replied.

From the point of view of Gui Heng, Chu Feng’s so-called treasure should be his parents and sister.

“Brother, have you lost something?” He did not know why Chu Feng suddenly thought so much about the future but there should be a reason.

“No, but a while ago I had a dream. I dreamed that I lost the person I should cherish most, I still remember the sadness and regret. I don’t want to make it a reality, so I have to make changes in my life. “Chu Feng could not tell him about the last life, so it could only be reduced to a dream. But he knew very well whether it was either a dream or a reality he had experienced.

Chu Feng looked at the dazed Gui Heng, and said, ” What I’m saying now you probably don’t understand it. But I have never harmed you, Have I?”

       Gui nodded subconsciously.

Chu Feng patted his shoulder and said, “So think about what I said, don’t waste your time again. At least this year, pull yourself together, get into a decent college, and leave a way for your future. I think If you are willing to take the test for A University, you can join me with your own efforts . “

Chu Feng knew that at this time, giving him a temporary goal could make him think about his  real goal when he wanted to understand it. If the goal for the time being is A University, then even if Gui Heng really can’t pass the exam after hard work, He can at least get admitted to a decent university and he won’t have to go abroad to study.

Gui Heng was suddenly infused with so many things, his mind was a bit chaotic, but he knew in his heart that Chu Feng’s words were be reasonable and would not harm him.

“Brother, I’ll think about it,” Gui Heng said.

“Okay, you have time to work hard. Just one year, don’t let yourself regret it.” As soon as Chu Feng’s voice fell, the preparation bell for class rang.

The two didn’t stay in the corridor any more and hurried back to the classroom.

Chu Feng has said everything he wanted to say and now the result is up to the other person. No one can wake up a person who wants to pretend to be asleep. He can say everything he can. If Gui Heng doesn’t wake up, he will respect his choice.

That afternoon, Gui Heng was distracted, and Chu Feng’s words echoed repeatedly in his mind. From time to time looking at Chu Feng, he could always see that Chu Feng was either taking notes or discussing issues with Rong Yun. He suddenly felt that this seemed good too. Maybe he hadn’t realized that yet, but it was always good for him to listen to Chu Feng’s words.

As for A university … Gui Heng looked at the heavenly level difficult paper on his desk, and suddenly felt that the current goal was far away from him, but it made him a little excited. He felt that he was doing well enough in the regular college entrance examination, but he could try it on the road of specialty students as well. Who knew what the results could look like?

T\N: Hello everyone, I’m very sorry for the delay but my laptop was broken and I couldn’t get it fixed during this time due to the repair shops being closed for the time being. It just came back after being repaired so the chapter is still unedited. Please forgive me for any mistakes. I hope you all are keeping safe during this difficult time. Much love.

Chapter 13

 The Quilt

When Chu Feng arrived home, he greeted his parents and went upstairs to find Chu Rou. He knocked on Chu Rou’s room door and Chu Rou soon came to open the door. When she saw Chu feng, she pouted her mouth and looked unhappy.

“What’s wrong?” Chu Feng asked with a smile. He didn’t remember how many years had passed since he had seen Chu Rou pouting, the little girl would not do this when she grew up.

“Did you go to the night market with Rong Yun?” Chu Rou asked, her tone was quite upset.

“En.” Chu Feng had already told his family that he would go with his desk mate, and Chu Rou would know if she asked them. In fact, he did not specifically tell Chu Rou that he was sitting at the same table with Rong Yun. One day, Chu Rou bought a discounted drink in the supermarket and saw him sitting with Rong Yun when she was delivering it to the classroom for him.

“You didn’t take me.” Chu Rou complained suddenly in a dissatisfied way which made him feel amused.

Chu Feng smiled slightly and said, “Next time, I’ll remember to take you too.” As for the next time he was talking about, well who knew when that one would come.

In fact, after Rong Yun’s suicide, the state of Chu Rou, and the postscript written by Rong Hong in the book, allowed Chu Feng to be sure that Rou Yun had always liked Rong Yun, and Rong Yun knew , but could not respond to Chu Rou’s feelings like she wanted him to . In this life, Chu Feng will be with Rong Yun. He also knows that Rong Yun has always liked him, so Chu Rou has no chance. However, Chu Rou was a girl and Chu Feng didn’t want to speak too plainly and hurt Chu Rou, so he tried to minimize the chance of Chu Rou contacting Rong Yun. When Chu Rou gets a little bigger and more stable, he will tell Chu Rou so that he won’t hurt her as much.

“Then don’t forget it.” Chu Rou’s face looked slightly better.

“En, I brought you something to eat. I put it in the kitchen, go and eat it before I change my mind,” Chu Feng teased her.

Upon hearing that Chu Feng brought her something to eat, Chu Rou immediately smiled and said, “Brother is the best!” After that, she went to the kitchen happily.

Chu Feng smiled helplessly and returned to his room.

After taking a shower, Chu Feng sat down at the table, ready to look at Rong Yun’s notes for a while, and then planned to sleep when he was sleepy. It was at that time he heard a knock on his door and told the other person to come in.

After Song Xin knocked on the door, she brought in a small box and came in.

“How about your studying?” Song Xin looked at him with a smile and continued when he told her it was going well, “I’m afraid I will forget tomorrow, so I thought I’d bring it to you now.”

“What is it?” Chu Feng looked at Song Xin’s hand and asked curiously.

“A quilt.” Song Xin lowered the box and said, “It’s getting colder every day. You take the quilt to school and cover yourself well at night with it. I bought one for you and Chu Rou. Your aunt Guan Min recommended it, and her child also has one and I thought it’s a good idea to get this for you.”

Guan Min is Song Xin ’s agent. Guan Min brought Song Xin ’s debut. The two are of similar age and have good personalities, so the relationship had always been very good, and they never had any conflicts. In addition to work, they often go out shopping, traveling together, and their children’s age is the same to they always have new topics for conversations.

Chu Feng carefully looked at the box, which had written with silk quilts on top of it, and it looked to be of good quality. Every year when the seasons change, his mother will prepare a new quilt for him. When he looked around in the cabinet before, he saw a clean thick quilt that was used very little. He no longer remembered what happened to the quilt but using it in winter is definitely fine. And his quilt now was enough to be used for him for heating.

Although there was a quilt, Chu Feng didn’t refuse. He only said, “Okay, I’ll take it back to school tomorrow. By the way, will you go out tomorrow?”

“No, is there something You want to do?” Song Xin asked.

“Can you let your driver take me to school? I just want to bring some thick clothes to school, and with this quilt, going by my own car is more convenient,” Chu Feng said. He originally wanted to take a taxi tomorrow to pick up Rong Yun, but with more things, it is more convenient to have his own car. Taxis are not allowed inside the school, but when parents come to send their children to school, as long as you show your student ID and register at the gate, you can drive directly downstairs to the Dorm.

“Okay, I’ll tell the driver a while.” Song Xin could agree to this little thing with no hesitation.

“En, I will pick my desk mate tomorrow, and he will probably bring clothes to school.” If he would ask the driver tomorrow to pick up Rong Yun, the driver would definitely talk to his mother when he would return so he asked his mother for this in advance..

“Yes, that’s no problem at all,” Song Xin naturally had no reason not to agree for Chu Feng to pick his friend on his way to school.

During the conversation, Song Xin’s eyes fell on the notebook on Chu Feng’s table. “Are these books not your own?”

“En, they’re my desk mate’s. These are the knowledge points he organized and borrowed to me.” Chu said. Rong Yun’s notes are written very carefully. It took a lot of time to copy them, but it was really useful.

“What a good boy,” Song Xin said with emotion. She knew, in the senior year, It was hard to review everything yourself, how can you take care of others? If he had to copy his notes for others it would delay his own studies.

Song Xin said: “I will let the kitchen make more delicious tomorrow morning, and you will bring it to your desk mate.”

“Okay,” Chu Feng said. Even if his mother didn’t say it, he would tell the kitchen to make something good for breakfast tomorrow morning.

“By the way, what’s the name of your desk mate?” Song Xin felt that she didn’t even know the name of Chu Feng’s desk mate and it was strange to keep calling him Chu Feng’s desk mate.

“Rong Yun.” Chu Huan wrote Rong Yun’s name on the paper so that his mother knew which two characters it was.

Song Xin nodded after watching and remembered the name in her heart.

“Okay, you can rest early, don’t study too late.” Song Xin said.

Chu Feng nodded and wished her an early night, “Okay, you’ll rest early, good night.”

“Good night.” Song Xin smiled at her son and turned away.

Chu Feng studied the notes again and felt a little sleepy. Then he picked up his phone and sent Rong Yun the words “Good night”. Then he turned off the lights and laid on the bed. After a few moments, Rong Yun also returned a text with the message of  “Good Night”. Chu Feng raised a corner of his mouth in a smile, put down his mobile phone and slept peacefully.

After having breakfast the next day, Chu Feng packed his things and was ready to pick up Rong Yun.

“Brother, I’m going back to school too, take me with you?” Chu Rou said after catching up with Chu Feng who had already gone downstairs.

Only then did Chu Feng remember that Chu Rou had to take the quilt to school. Even if he doesn’t want Chu Rou to have more contact with Rong Yun, he can’t let his sister take a taxi alone.

“Okay, you go get it,” Chu Feng said.

“Okay.” Chu Rou quickly returned to the room to pick up her belongings.

Chu Rou was listening to Song Xin when she said that Chu Feng would pick up Rong Yun on his way when she ate this morning.

After getting in the car, they rushed to Rong Yun’s house first, and along the way, Chu Rou’s mouth had a smile on her face, and she seemed quite in a good mood.

After reaching Rong Yun’s home, Chu Feng called Rong Yun. Rong Yun quickly carried his bag. In addition to his laptop, he also carried a bag with clothes suitable for this season. This morning, Chu Feng called and asked him to bring it. It is more convenient to take it by car, which is better than Rong Yun bringing it in the subway by himself.

“Brother Rong Yun.” Chu Rou was there, beckoning at him.

Rong Yun walked with a smile, “You are here too?”

Chu Rou: “En, I’m taking advantage of my brother bringing the car to bring things back to school.”

Chu Feng took Rong Yun’s stuff and put it on the co-pilot seat. Then he sat in the back seat himself before calling Rong Yun into the car. After Rong Yun got on the car, the driver started the car again and drove to school.

There were three people in the back row. Although it was not crowded, it was not spacious. Chu Feng sat in the middle, separating Rong Yun from Chu Rou. In fact, it should be better for one of them to sit in the co-driver’s seat, but he can’t let Rong Yun and Chu Rou sit alone in the back and  he couldn’t let Chu Rou sit in front, and he can’t sit separately from Rong Yun which resulted in the current arrangement.

Along the way, Chu Rou spoke to Rong Yun, feeling particularly lively.

Chu Feng didn’t want Chu Rou to attract too much of Rong Yun’s attention, so he quietly held Rong Yun’s hand where she could not see, and hid behind him.

There was a layer of pink on Rong Yun’s face, but he didn’t break free and let him hold it obediently.

When they arrived at the school, the two boys sent Chu Rou to the dormitory downstairs before going to their dormitory. Chu Feng didn’t ask Rong Yun to help get things, only let him take his own bag, and then said goodbye to the driver,  picked up the  bags and went upstairs with Rong Yun.

They opened the bedroom door. The air in the room was not so good because the window had not been opened for two days. Rong Yun put down his things and opened the window first.  The fresh air came in, which made people feel more comfortable.

Chu Feng closed the door, and put the things on the table in a regulated state. Gui Heng and Si Xian haven’t returned yet, and they are expected to wait until dinner.

“What did you bring?” Rong Yun walked over and took a closer look at the big box from Chu Feng, finding it was a quilt.

“I’ll put this on your bed,” Chu Feng said.

“No, I already have one.” Rong Yun rejected him hurriedly.

“It’s getting colder, you won’t be able to stand the cold in October with this quilt, you have to change it earlier.” Chu Feng said, washed his hands, then came back and opened the box.

“I can wear little thicker clothes.” Rong Yun doesn’t change the quilt as often as Chu Feng, but his quilt can still warm him until the heating is turned on in the dorms.

“This quilt is of better quality, and you don’t need to bring yours from home anymore.” When he packed things for Rong Yun, he didn’t see other quilts in the locker. If he wanted to change, Rong Yun would take it from home now.

Chu said: “I have a lot of quilts. I don’t need this. I’m just giving it to you.” Chu Feng took the quilt and put it on his own bed.

Rong Yun’s bed only had a single thin quilt. It is estimated that there is no suitable quilt at home for him to bring. Chu Feng found a set of blue and white doted sheet from his own cabinet. First, he threw the sheets and pillowcases onto Rong Yun’s bed, and then said, “Go wash your hands and help me with this.” This kind of work, if not a little tricky, is very troublesome for the young master who never had to do things like this at home.

Seeing that Chu Feng is ready to cover the quilt, Rong Yun no longer refused, washed his hands, back and said: ” I’ll do this. It’s too much trouble for you.”

Rong Yun could no longer tolerate Chu Feng struggling around trying to cover the quilt with a cover so he headed over to do it and got it done in three minutes flat which left Chu Feng dumb struck. He was a little confused to how the task seemed so easy with Rong Yun performing it.

“You have a good method,” Chu Feng said with a smile.

“I learned it from my mother.” Rong Yun said.

Later, Chu Feng helped Rong Yun to change all the pillowcases and sheets. He likes the sense of coordination of a whole set of bedding. This set of sheets was bought during the summer vacation. He brought it to the school after washing, but it has been useless and just happened to be here when  Rong Yun needed it.

Rong Yun felt soft and sweet as he touched the light and soft quilt. Chu Feng was so meticulous that he had never expected it before, which made him feel that it was a very correct and worthwhile choice to like Chu Feng.

Chu Feng didn’t know what Rong Yun was thinking, but when he gave Rong Yun a quilt, he suddenly felt that the quilt was very good, soft like Rong Yun’s face.

Chapter 12

Night Market

At nine o’clock in the evening Chu Feng’s father, Chu Tang returned home after entertaining. Although Chu Tang treats his children severely, he loves his wife well and does not want to say “no” to her no matter how unreasonable she may be at the time.

“Welcome back.” Song Xin heard the movement of Chu Tang’s entrance, her gentle smile with the charm of a mature woman came on her lips, making her look beautiful.

“What are you doing?” Chu Tang asked.

“Cutting some fruit to send it to Chu Feng and Chu Rou in a while.” Song Xin smiled. Chu Rou had also came back a short while ago and went upstairs to take a shower.

“If they want to eat then let them come down to get it for themselves.” Chu Tang could not bear to have his wife busy even with things regarding his children.

Song Xin laughed: “It’s all done. It’s just that when you go up, you can send it to Chu Feng.” Finally her son began to study hard so she had to let her husband look at the thing he had been wishing for.

“Okay.” Chu Tang didn’t refuse, and took the fruit plate for Chu Feng and went upstairs.

Chu Tang knocked on the door of Chu Feng’s room, and Chu Feng’s voice came from inside: “Please come in.”

Chu Tang pushed the door and walked in, and saw Chu Feng’s scene of turning over a book page and writing on a paper. He was hesitating at the door after seeing this scene but after a while, he thought Chu Feng was probably just messing with his homework to show him but not actually doing anything. He walked in with a serious face, put the fruit on the table, and sneakily glanced at Chu Feng’s paper. Currently, Chu Feng’s paper was more than half written and the writing was very neat and well-organized which was completely different from the past disjointed and disorganized way of writing before. Not to mention the answer is right and if not that at least the attitude is correct.

Chu Feng thought it was his mother who brought him fruit and he didn’t look up and just murmured a ‘Thank you’ but he soon smelled the scent of men’s perfume and realized that it was his father.

Chu Feng looked up only to see his father looking at his paper for a few moments and then looking at him the without saying anything. He then left the fruit and a rare sentence behind when he was closing the door. “Take an early break and don’t stay up late. “

Before Chu Feng and his father always talked nonchalantly, and they had to quarrel after saying just a few words. However, his father’s attitude today made Chu Feng unable to find anything that could be considered annoying.

After Chu Tang showered, he did not go directly to the study, but went downstairs to find Song Xin.

Song Xin was sitting in the living room watching TV with dried strawberries in her hand and eating one from time to time.

Chu Tang sat next to Song Xin and asked, “What’s wrong with Chu Feng?”

“What’s wrong with him? Why?” Song Xin glanced at him and asked nonchalantly if nothing had happened.

Chu Tang frowned, and said, “He was actually studying, and he looked quite serious. I saw a few books on the table, and the words on them didn’t look like it was nonsense. I didn’t know if it was borrowed or what. What stimulated him suddenly to study so seriously? “

Song Xin hit Chu Tang’s shoulder in a false angry manner.” You are not satisfied with your child’s serious study? “

Chu Tang said,” Not dissatisfied per se, but I feel like its too abnormal. “

Song Xin smiled helplessly, telling Chu Tang what Chu Feng had told her when they ate today.

“He really said that?” Chu Tang apparently didn’t believe it.

Song Xin stared at him apparently dissatisfied with his question, “Why would I lie to you?”

“I don’t mean that.” Chu Tang still felt a bit uneasy. “I just feel like this will be a three-minute fever and then He’ll go back to how it was and that would be more disappointing.”
” I believe what my son says anyway. “Song Xin said resolutely.

The two were talking, Chu Rou came downstairs to get warm milk. Seeing Chu Tang, he ran to his arms to hug him cutely for a while. Chu Tang still loved this daughter very much, and Chu Rou didn’t bother him, and was very considerate, so the relationship between father and daughter had always been good.

After acting cute with her parents for a while, Chu Rou went to the kitchen to warm the milk, Chu Tang said to her: “Give a cup to your brother.”

“Okay.” Chu Rou smiled, the father suddenly began to care for her brother, and Chu Rou was very happy. For whatever reason it was happening, the harmony of the family was the most important thing to Chu Rou.

On Saturday, Chu Feng did not disappoint his parents and read the whole day’s book. It was not until evening that he changed his clothes and went downstairs.

“Going out?” Song Xin asked, looking at his dressing.

“En, I want to ask my desk mate to go to the night market with me,” Chu Feng said.

As soon as she heard that I was going out with the his desk mate, Song Xin was relieved at once, and said, “Go on, you’ve studied at home for a whole day so  go out and relax. You take the initiative to pay the bill and get along well with your friend, alright?”

“I know.” Chu Feng smiled and nodded.

Sitting in the living room Chu Tang saw Chu Feng going out and did not oppose him, only said. “Do not come back too late and If you don’t have enough money just take some from me.”
Chu Feng  was a bit surprised, this is the first time his father took the initiative  if ask him whether or not he had enough money.
“I have enough, Don’t worry . I’ll be back at 9:30 at the latest.” Chu Feng also converged on his rebellious attitude from the past and informed him in an obedient manner.

“En.” Chu Tang nodded and said nothing.

Today, Chu Feng studied for the whole day and although learning is important, the combination of work and rest is also important to maintain. Moreover, Chu Feng just went to the night market and he didn’t want to go elsewhere.

Chu Feng took a Taxi to Rong Yun’s home and was happy that he escaped the traffic jam. If he had been even a little late then he would have gotten stuck in the evening traffic.

Chu Rong didn’t tell Rong Yun in advance, but went to the place in front of Rong Yun’s building and called Rong Yun.

Rong Yu picked up in no more than rings. Rong Yun’s pleasant voice came through the phone making Chu Feng smile, “Hey, Chu Feng.”

“En, are you free now?” Chu Huan asked. In fact, he suddenly came over like this, it was likely that Rong Yun was not at home at all, but he just wanted to see Rong Yun, and he could wait if Rong Yun was not at home.

“Yes, what’s wrong?” Rong Hong asked.

Chu Yi laughed a little, and Rong Yun’s voice made him feel a little reassured.

“I’m downstairs at your building.” Chu said.

There was a moment of silence in Rong Yun’s side. As Chu Feng expected, after a while, Rong Yun opened the window and looked at Chu Feng.

Chu Feng waved his hand at him and spoke into the phone: “Change your clothes, I’ll take you to dinner.”

Chu Feng’s arrival had already surprised Rong Yun, and now he would take him to dinner, Rong Yun smiled, unable to hold back, “Wait for me, then.”

“Okay, don’t worry I’ll be right here.” Chu Feng said gently to reassure him.

About five minutes later, Rong Hong changed his clothes and came down.

“How did you come so suddenly?” Rong Yun stood in front of him, smiling a little shyly.

“I wanted to see you,” Chu Feng said with a smile. He the whole day and felt very tired. Thinking of coming out to relax at night, he didn’t want to meet anyone, just wanted to find Rong Yun.

Rong Yun smiled blushingly and didn’t speak.

“Let’s go, I’ll  take you to the night market,” Chu Feng said.

“Okay.” Rong Yun nodded and left with Chu Feng.

There are many night markets in City C, and their locations are scattered. One happened to be not far from Rong Yu’s apartment. It only took fifteen minutes to walk between the two places.

The variety of night market is very complicated. The things that can be found include things ranging from clothes to small things for daily use like tooth paste and toilet paper, but the main attraction is still a variety of foods and the fragrance spreading all over the street is very appetizing. Rong Yun has no need to eat so light  now but if he suddenly eats something too greasy he is afraid that his stomach can’t stand it, so Chu Feng first went to the night market. First, there are more types of food to choose from, and second, they taste good .

Entering the night market, Chu Feng said, “Just say what you want to eat, and then we’ll go home when you are full.”

       “Okay.” Rong Yun smiled.

So the two started to walk through the stalls one by one, and when they wanted to eat something that looked good or smelled good, Chu Feng would buy it, but generally only bought one serving, and two people shared the food, so they could eat more types, otherwise they would fee full after a few things would regret not eating the other things.

When the two were almost full, Chu Feng went to buy two cups of sugar-free milk tea and each of them drank one. There are more people at the night market, which made it slightly crowded. Chu Feng worried that Rong Yun would be separated from him so he reached out and held Rong Yun’s hand.

Rong Yun’s hands were a bit cold but they were comfortable to hold.

Suddenly holding hands like that, Rong Yun didn’t even dare to lift his head. He blushed bright red like a ripe tomato and looked very cute.

Chu Feng laughed but said nothing and continued to hold his hand to stroll the night market.

Later, when both people were full, Chu Feng did not take him to the snack side, but went to the stalls and shops where you could buy  clothes. The clothes here were not well-known brands, and the quality is also different, but if you look carefully, you can also buy good things at a particularly cheap price.

The weather was getting colder so Chu Feng bought Rong Yun a scarf that he could wear in autumn. A black, white and gray plaid scarf was wrapped around Rong Yun’s neck, making him look younger.

“Don’t always spend money on me” Rong Yun felt that it was very bad for Chu Feng to keep spending money on him, although Chu Feng seemed very happy to give him something.

Chu Feng took his hand and went on, “It’s all things you can use so the money is not  wasted.”

“That’s still  not good,” Rong Yun continued to protest halfheartedly.

“It’s nothing bad, I’m happy to pay for you,” Chu said with a smile. Now he didn’t make money himself so there was always a bit of restraint on the use of money. When he got the money himself, he would buy Rong Yun even  better things.

Chu Fen said in this manner and Rong Yun had no words to refute him so could only be silent but in his heart he was still a bit resistant.

When I went back, Chu Feng bought a few things for Rong Yun that looked good to him and asked him to take them back to eat. He bought a few for Chu Rou. His mother had to keep her figure, so she was very particular about eating and his father didn’t like  street food, so he didn’t need to bring them anything.

Walking downstairs to Rong Yun’s building, Chu Feng said suddenly, “I will pick you up after lunch tomorrow, and we will go back to school together.”

“Okay.” Rong Yun nodded obediently, his face still flushed.

Chu Feng looked at him, didn’t hld back, and lowered his head and kissed him on the lips.

Rong Hong’s face became even redder, and he stuttered, “I … I’m going up, you go back on time …”

Chu Yan squeezed his face with a smile, and said, “En, go. “

Rong Yun hurriedly left fearing that he would blush har enough to faint, waving at Chu Feng and ran upstairs.

Chu Yan looked up and watched Rong Yun’s light turn on. Then, as he expected, Rong Yun opened the window to see if he was still there. After seeing him, he waved at him again.

Chu Yun yelled a bit loudly, “I’m leaving, close the window.”

“Okay.” Rong Yun responded but didn’t close it immediately.

Just then there was an empty taxi passing by, Chu Feng beckoned to stop the car and looked back at Rong Yun again and left a “see you tomorrow” before leaving in the taxi.

Rong Yun closed the window and raised his hand to touch the scarf around his neck. It  is still a little early to wear this scarf but the warmth  made Rong Yun feel very safe. Just like Chu Feng’s hand ,it was warm and reassuring.

RER Chapter 11 part 2

When Chu Feng returned home, it was already time  to eat. Seeing him enter through the door Song Xin walked towards him and smiled, “How come you were so late coming home?”

“I had something to do before coming and it took a little longer than I expected.” Chu Feng told her with a smile.

Song Xin looked deeply at Chu Feng whom she hadn’t seen for a while. “You look very happy.”

Chu Feng just smiled and said, “I’ll go upstairs and change clothes.”

Song Xin stood and smiled at her son, “Go.” When he turned around she saw a bag hanging from his shoulder that she hadn’t noticed before. “What’s in that?”

“Books and homework.” Chu Feng carelessly tossed over his shoulder and left behind a bewildered Song Xin. She couldn’t believe that Chu Feng was really carrying his books and homework. Actually, she was more likely to believe him if he told her he was carrying love letters or a gaming device.

Chu Feng didn’t explain much and just just went upstairs to change his clothes.

Entering his room Chu Feng finally cemented the fact that he had been sent back in time. This familiar and yet unfamiliar room gave him an uncontrollable  feeling of nostalgia. After he had gone abroad to study his family moved to a new house. Even though this place was not sold but it was not his home anymore, just an empty house. Afterwards he bought his own house and forgot he this place he had lived in for so long. Even though he often went to his parents’ home, the room prepared for him was very different than this one.

Fortunately, he had not forgotten the address to this place, Chu Feng thought humorously, if he went to the place his parents bought later it might have been very embarrassing to find someone else living there.

After freshening up, he changed his clothes and called Rong Yun to tell him he was home after which he and Rong Yun talked for a few more minutes before his mother called him downstairs to eat.

Today there was only him and Song Xin at the dinner table. It was usual for his busy father to not show up for dinner and he didn’t ask about him but not seeing Chu Rou made him a little puzzled.

“Where’s Chu Rou?” He asked.

Song Xin sat next to him on the dinner table and passed him a bowl of soup saying “She said she would eat outside with her friends before coming home tonight. It seems that her classmate had coupons for a restaurant and today is the last day it can be used.”

Chu Feng didn’t ask anymore and continued to eat. Song Xin was not good at housework or cooking so they always had chefs for the cooking and part time cleaners for the housework so Song Xin was worry free.

Drinking the soup Chu Feng asked his mother “Is the filming going well?” . His mother got back home last Sunday. If it was the usual he would have definitely come  back home to accompany his mother to eat but since he had to take Rong Yun to the hospital he hadn’t come back due to which his mother sent him dinner through Chu Rou.

Song Xin was an international actress and needed to go abroad many times each year for filming for long periods of time, sometimes more than half a year. Chu Feng’s father is very supportive of his wife’s profession. Probably because Song Xin felt very guilty about not giving enough time to her children that she had very low requirements for her children in their studies and such and only wants them to grow up happily. So even if Chu Feng was not particularly serious about his studies, she never said anything. Her biggest regret was that she could never accompany her children to parent teacher meetings since she was followed by reporters wherever she went and would probably cause a commotion in school if she went so she could only talk to the teachers of her children in private through her phone.

“It’s not too bad. The only troublesome thing is that the weather is very dry so we have to moisturise several times a day.” Song Xin smiled. As an actor she had to film in various environments and had to overcome the troubles that came with those environments. Although it is a bit hard but she had learned to cope with it to act in a satisfactory manner in those environments.

In Chu Feng’s impression his mother had always looked perfect. Even now he couldn’t find a single mark on her face. The only sign of her working hard was that she seemed much thinner than before.

He picked some eggplant which his mother loved to eat and put it in her plate. “You should eat more while you’re at home.”

Song Xin looked at him in pleasant surprise since it had been quite sometime since he had added food to her plate.

Chu Feng had gotten used to taking care of Rong Yun in school so he habitually picked some vegetables and side dishes to add to his mother’s plate. He didn’t know the joy in her heart but looking at the happiness on her face, he thought that his mother was very easy to please. Since Childhood he mostly saw his mother through a TV screen which caused him to have a sense of distance from his mother despite their good relationship. In fact, this distance is not much so he didn’t understand it or feel it during his teenage years but now after years of experience he can feel its presence and see things from a different perspective.

Song Xin hurried to eat the food he had added to her plate and also urged his to eat more.

“The things in school must not taste as good as the things made at home. You should also eat more.” Chu Feng only agreed and ate quietly.

Song Xin wanted to know more about her son so she kept asking him questions.

“How is school going?” She asked him trying to be casual. Chu Feng smiled at her question.

“Very Good. The teacher changed my seat next to a student who studies very well and helps me a lot during my studies.” Chu Feng felt he needed to make an impression of Rong Yun on his parents early on so that things could go smoother in the future.

“Oh? Then you have to be kind to your partner.” Song Xin had never heard Chu Feng mention his deskmates. Seemed like he had never been very satisfied with his previous deskmates.

“I know.” Chu Feng nodded his head and kept eating. “Oh yeah, I also want to talk to you about something.”

“What’s the matter?”  Song Xin asked him eagerly.

“I want to find a tutor to help me with reviewing all my subjects.” Chu Feng told her calmly. He had already known that if he didn’t seek foreign help for his studies he would never achieve the goal he had set for himself which was to catch up with Rong Yun.

“Huh?” Song Xin wasn’t sure but it had sounded like her son had asked her to find him a tutor for his studies.

Chu Feng patiently repeated his words. Song Xin looked at him anxiously and asked,” Did you have any trouble recently? Why do you want to find a tutor? Is the school teacher finding faults with you for something?”

Chu Feng smiled at her concerns and hurriedly denied her. “No, it’s nothing like that. My deskmate just helped me find a new method of learning that I think is quiet suitable for me. I met my cousin last week and he also mentioned to me that this is the time I have to put in more effort into my studies. I can’t keep on fooling around anymore. At least I don’t want to bring shame to you and dad. Also I would like if I could get in the same university as my desk mate.”’

Song Xin was still not reassured by his words. “You know that I don’t need you to bring honor to me by doing these things. I am satisfied as long as you are happy and healthy.”

“I know.” Chu Feng smiled at his mother’s love and affection. “But I want to do this for myself. At the very least won’t you be more reassured about my future if my studies can be better?”

Song xin carefully observed Chu Feng’s expression and finally determined that he wasn’t being forced to do this nor was he reluctant to do it so she smiled and accepted it as a part of him growing up.

“You’ve grown up and now I don’t need to worry about you anymore. About the tutoring you can rest assured that I will find a good tutor for you and let you know.”

“En, then I’ll just meet with the tutor outside. I’ll probably come home less and stay at school on the weekends to study since the environment in school is better for learning.”He said this but in fact had other plans for the time being.

“Okay, do as you like.” Song Xin agreed comfortably.

After dinner Chu Feng chatted with Song Xin sometime before going to his room to study. As a parent Song Xin would never stop her children from studying.

“Go I’ll send some fruit for you to eat in a while.”

“Okay.” Chu Feng agreed.

“Oh yes, invite your desk mate for dinner sometime when he had time. He has been good to you and you should repay his kindness.” Song Xin reminded him.

“En, I’ll ask him over sometime later. Right now is probably not a good time. Let’s talk about it again before my winter holidays.” Chu Feng thought a bit before speaking and Song Xin was pleased with his answer.

T/N: So Sorry for the long absence. I feel like I have to say this every time. I was busy with mids and then projects just after mids and barely had time to translate so to make up there is an extra long chapter this time. I hope you guys had fun reading this. The next one is even more fun I promise and hopefully will be uploaded sometime soon.

RER Chapter 11 part 1

Going Home

During the week the performance of Chu Feng was very good. He paid attention in class and if there was something he didn’t understand, he would take the initiative to ask the teacher if he was in the class. Though his foundation wasn’t good but teachers are always patient with the students who ask questions and they were not dissatisfied even if they had to explain it three or four times.

Back in the dormitory he would ask Rong Yun or Si Xian for help if he didn’t understand anything. Aside from that, he also implemented the review plan made by Rong Yun. Though he couldn’t answer every question and still needed to ask for help from time to time it wasn’t like before when he didn’t even know from which chapter a question belonged to.

On Thursday Chu Feng’s mother, Song Xin, called him and asked him to come home for the weekend. Chu Feng simply agreed. The reason is that his mother wasn’t home very often so the times that she would be home, Chu Feng would try to go home more often.

After hanging up the phone Chu Feng turned towards Rong Yun. “Will you go home this weekend?”

Rong Yun nodded.

“That’s good. I’ll send you home.” Chu Feng said.

“No need, it’s very convenient for me to take the subway home.” Rong Yun refused knowing that Chu Feng and himself didn’t live in the same direction and he didn’t want Chu Feng to be too tired.

“I want to send you.” Chu Feng said firmly leaving no room for refusal.

“Alright.” After a moment of hesitation Rong Yun agreed.

After school on friday the two of them left the school with Chu Feng carrying the bags of two of them and Rong Yun holding the laptop. Originally Rong Yun wanted to carry his own bag but Chu Feng refused to give it to him so he could only carry the laptop.

To get to Rong Yun’s house it only takes two stops on the subway and then there was a walk of almost ten minutes. Rong Yun’s house is in the old district with buildings with six to seven floors.

The colours of the buildings are also different, not like the modern communities where all the buildings are uniform in colour and shapes. However the road is wide and all kinds of public facilities are available, the traffic is convenient so the area is alright to live in.

When they got to Rong Yun’s building Rong Yun said. “We’re here. You should go back early and not let everyone  at home wait for you.”

“Which floor do you live in?” Chu Feng asked him and looked at the exterior of the building which was a little old but had been refurbished and was safe to live in.

“The third floor.” Rong Yun pointed to one of the windows. “That’s my house.”

Chu Feng nodded and handed the bag and the laptop to Rong Yun and told him carefully. “Whenever you have a problem, you call me. You’re not allowed to use the computer for too long. You have to eat your dinner and your medicine will be finished today. Eat it and then go to bed early and don’t stay up late.”

“En, I know.” Rong Yun nodded. He felt warm inside seeing Chu Feng being so careful about caring for himself.

“Go on upstairs.” Chu Feng said.

“En, send me a message when you get home.” Rong Yun told him.

“Alright. I’ll remember.” Chu Feng nodded.

Rong Yun opened the anti theft door and entered the building. After entering the house, he went to the balcony to see if Chu Feng had left yet.

ChuFeng seemed to have expected that ROng Yun would look outside to check if he had left yet. After seeing Rong Yun looking outside towards himself Chu Feng waved his hand. “I’m leaving now.”

“Yeah.” Rong Yun waved back, his eyes bent because of his smile.

Chu Feng didn’t say anything else and turned around to leave. Rong Yun looked at the back of Chu Feng until he wasn’t visible anymore before washing his hands and getting ready to cook dinner.

T/N: So sorry for the delay. I just realized how hard it is to be a translator while being in College. I have mids in like two weeks and in between reviewing and being buried under quizzes and assignment I’m so ready to transmigrate into an old woman. Once again sorry for the delay. I’ll try to get the other part up as soon as possible. Possibly sometime next week. Peace.
